======================================================= MPC Gram ====================================================== Vol 1 Number 72 July 25, 2000 News and Views This is the last gram from paradise. I had expected to get a serious gram prepared, but it just did not happen. I am only a few minutes from departing and will not likely get another gram out till Wed, so I figured that I had bettter send out something! We started the MPC Gram as a whim. I did not think nor intend that it would really become a regular item. Well, here we are more than 70 issues later.... Now I wonder about the name of our little eLetter. Certainly we cover more than MPC so I am not real comfortable with this title. However, I do not have another in mind. We are about to send out newsreleases to the various print numismatic publications about the gram, so if we are going to change it (the title), now might be an ideal time. What are your thoughts on this not very earth shattering problem? We have some interesting thrings brewing so watch your mail box in the next week! ======================================================== Letters Dear Editor, ======================================================== Calendar In this section we will highlight MPC chat, MPC Fest, and MPC gram events. Other events will be mentioned as they get close. For planning purposes see the papermoneyworld.com calendar of events. The next major show is the American Numismatic Association Convention (August 9-13). This year the convention will be in Philadelphia. 25 years ago the ANA convention was one of the major events for paper money. Now with the development of so many successful paper money shows (and of course the MPC Fest), its importance has diminished, but it is still an important show. Because it is such a big and important show, you cannot help but find some good paper there. Marv Mericle's great MPC collection will NOT be on display as promissed because of family and administration problems. We are certainly sorry to hear about that, but hope that all goes well with Marv and that we will see the exhibit again soon. I will be there the entire time and will be pleased to chat MPC with you! ==================================================== Trading post Your classified advertisement for items for sale will be run here for free. Send your ads to the gram. Very nice Australian War bond as listed in WWII Remembered. You can have a pair of one pound bonds (one each large and small size) for only $50 (for the pair!).
