====================================================== MPC Gram ======================================================= Series 001 Number 89 Aug 17, 2000 News and Views Well, I am finally home. It seems like I have been away forever. I certainly had a lot of fun and spent a lot of money too. Now I have a ton of work to do. Chat on Wed centered on the matter of MPC prices in the green sheet. Specifically, the idea of putting MPC prices in every month. Among the other ideas was the suggestion that I send out a questionare in the gram so that everyone cant have a try at it and some input. Will think about that idea, but I doubt if we would get much response because it is a lot of work. On the other hand I might be surprised and every bit of input will be appreciated anyway. The monthly thing is not certain at this point, but I will need help for the regular report anyway. Have a great day. Hope to see you at chat tonight (Thur). ======================================================== Mail Call Dear Editor: Congratulations to the American Numismatic Association for one of the top convention’s ever. Thanks to the ANA Convention Department headed by Brenda Bishop and the rest of the dedicated staff in Colorado Springs, ANA Public Relations Director Stephen Bobbitt, the National volunteers, excellent security, the local committee chaired by William “Bill” Horton and his dedicated workers and the host clubs. With attendance near 21,000, extraordinary exhibits - up front near the entrance, a well lit convention center, exceptional numismatic theatre, club meetings, great youth programs, and dedicated exhibit judges this convention had it all. The ship of gold, Bowers & Merena auction, world mints and bureaus, a YN world series, an authors table, and extraordinary tours all added to the convention. U. S. Mint Director Jay Johnson, along with other dignitaries from around the world made for a great 109th ANA Worlds Fair of Money. The theme for the convention “Memories Last a Lifetime,” was certainly appropriate; as this one will go down as one of the best ANA’s ever. Our hat goes of to anyone and everyone connected with running this convention. Yours in Numismatics, John and Nancy Wilson Dear Editor, If you're gonna put my questions in the gram, please use the proper context. Reading the way you spliced together our comments from chat, it would appear that I said some people would be upset over 691 and 701 being in the greensheet. When in fact the comment about people being upset was meant to reflect people's different feelings on what is a particular note worth. No harm done, just a comment, as you like comments.
